After completing the initial build and suffering a nearly fatal accident on site, Nikos encountered a lot of skepticism from various people working in the mykonian nightlife. The main argument ,back in 1993, was:

“ Nobody will leave Mykonos town to go and party on an otherwise deserted hilltop”.
 Well after 19 years of continuous success, we can safely say now, that they where wrong !

The architectural design was developed through various stages with total respect of the natural surroundings thus you get the feeling of being within nature and you appreciate the wild beauty that Mykonos Island and the Aegean archipelago has to offer.

The first years Cavo existed as an after hours party venue and first line-ups included the DEF MIX crew (Morales, Knuckles & Tomiie),Louie Vega and Kenny Dope plus many others from the US house scene. Word was spread over quickly within the dance music industry and Cavo was on its way, on becoming the club it is today.At the same time, thanks to the efforts of Margharita Antonini (general Manager and head of the promotions department since 1997), the artist roster was getting more and more intense, showcasing a unique diversity of dance music genres.

Ever since the dawn of the millennium, Cavo Paradiso is regarded by music industry publications, artists and clubbers, as one of the most impressive venues globally. It is regularly voted in the top club annual lists.

There have been many great memorable moments from Cavo’s rich party history including John Digweed’s show in 2001, when he finished his set after 11 hours on the decks, at 3:30 in the afternoon and

David Morales’es 40 th birthday (which he celebrates in Mykonos since the club first opened in 1994). Back then,he had a surprise visit by Louie Vega and Frankie Knuckles, which ended up being a marathon back to back set between these 3 legends of house music.

Today, Cavo is characterized by probably the most intense summer schedule on the planet with back to back events, involving the biggest djs on the scene, from the beginning of July until the the end of August.
Cavo’s main aspiration for the future is to continue the tradition of being a venue striving for quality, diversity and the need to satisfy the thousands of clubbers that visit the club every year.
